My Memories of the Comstock
An Eye-Witness Account of the Richest Place on Earth
by Harry M. Gorham
For 26 years Harry Gorham worked with his uncle Sam Jones, managing the Crown Point Mine and other mining and milling properties belonging to Sam's brother John P. Jones, one of Nevada's Silver Senators. From 1877 to 1903 his privileged position gave him access to all levels of Comstock life above and below ground. This book is a treasure trove of stories and first-hand observations, a monument to the life that flourished on the Comstock Lode in the latter years of the 19th century. Illustrations by John & Marie Gorham, Introduction by David W. Toll, with photos from the family album. (Published by Gold Hill Publishing Co. in 2005 ~ Shipped by publisher.)
