We All Live in Vegas
320 Superb Images of Las Vegas
by François Paolini
When French photojournalist François Paolini saw Las Vegas for the first time in 1999 on his way east from Los Angeles, he didn't quite know what to make of it. Paolini drove up the strip, snapped a couple of pictures of casinos, and then continued on his trip. One thing was certain in his mind though: He had to come back. As an artist, as a journalist, he had to come back to Las Vegas.
Paolini did come back and spent several years photographing Las Vegas in its many aspects. We All Live in Vegas not only shows Las Vegas as a city of bright lights and spectacular architecture, it also portrays Paolini's notion that Las Vegas exists as both an idea and model for the future. Paolini's photos are paintings of atmosphere that bring together in one image what the visitor has perceived without always analyzing, as well as a concentration of astonishing dreams for those who were not there.
320 unique photos by this world-renowned photojournalist; text in both English and French. (Published by Stephens Press in 2005 ~ Shipped by publisher.)
