xNature Trail at Rye Patch State Recreation Area on Interstate 80 east of Lovelock NevadaOpen year-round, Rye Patch State Recreation Area is situated on Rye Patch Reservoir, 11,000 acres of water surface when full, and the last stop for the Humboldt River. You can camp here, picnic, swim, even water-ski — so long as you bring your own boat and the other essential gear. Fishermen take white and black bass, catfish and walleye. Trails will take you throughout the park and around the 22-mile long reservoir with its 72 miles of shoreline. The waterfowl and wildlife include hawks, eagles, owls, great egrets, antelope, deer and fox. Bring your ATV and use the park as a base camp for exploring ghost towns and sightseeing in the wide-open public lands that we cherish in Nevada.
