Built in 1933 during the construction of Hoover Dam (then called Boulder Dam) the hotel perfectly blends its historic charm with the conveniences modern travelers expect. The hotel's free wi-fi is the top-rated in Boulder City and hotel guests receive a complimentary, cooked-to-order, full breakfast.
The Boulder Dam Hotel transcends its rather plain design with the elegance of its interior; even though it resembles a barracks made of cinderblock, it presents itself as a jewel. This is where the big shots from back east and visiting celebrities came to stay after it opened in 1933. The spacious lobby is virtually unchanged from that time. The rooms, named for illustrious guests in years gone by (Shirley Temple, a Prince and Princess from Norway) have been restored to their original appearance and upgraded with free wi-fi. No tv though! Made-to-order breakfast is served gratis to guests in the restaurant adjoining the lobby. Quite delightful.
