Daily Train ScheduleDaily operations begin May 27 with steam and diesel locomotives through the end of October. Steam engine runs during the busy summer months diesel on other days.Fares are $12/adults (13 and over), $6/children (5-12) on steam trains,$10/adults, $5 children on diesel trains.7 Departures Daily from the Virginia City’s Historic 1870 Depot for the the 35-minute Virginia City to Gold Hill roundtrip. Reservations are not required.

The V&T Railroad offers daily scenic, narrated steam and diesel train rides winding through the hills of the Comstock from Virginia City to Gold Hill and back, where, during the Big Bonanza in the 1870’s, miners worked one of the richest deposits of silver and gold ever found. This shaped mining throughout the world over the next 50 years.

The Virginia & Truckee is by far the most famous of all American short lines and was brought back to life by Robert C. Gray in 1976, who was one of the passengers on the last train to Virginia City in 1938. Today the V&T is 140 years old and still steaming for you to relive the days of gold and silver mining on the Comstock.
