4th of July Cruise – Virginia City
July 4 @ 10:00 am - 9:30 pm
Celebrate our nation’s independence in historic Virginia City, where the streets are lined with red, white and blue, the cruise is a celebration of Americana and you feel the boom of the fireworks in your bones. Throughout the day, Virginia City offers an authentic, home-town Independence Day experience with a Cruise, raffle and auction, the Comstock Cowboys Second Amendment Concert, old-west shootouts, shopping, train rides and of course the incredible fireworks display at dark.
A cruise will take the place of the traditional parade. While no one will be allowed to congregate along the boardwalk, everyone is encouraged to drive through Virginia City and participate in the cruise. The cruise runs from 12 to 1 p.m. Saturday, July 4. Cruise participant line-up starts at the Fourth Ward School, located at the junction of U.S. Routes 342 and 341 at C Street, starting at 11 a.m. Registration is not required but red, white and blue vehicle decorations are encouraged. No walking groups, animal groups or passing out of candy will be allowed. Spectators will be asked not to congregate along the boardwalk and those that do will be asked to follow social distancing guidelines. ATV/OHVs are allowed to participate during the cruise hour only.
Storey County has determined that it is in the best interest of our community, including residents and businesses, to cancel the Fourth of July fireworks scheduled for Saturday, July 4. The decision was based on many factors including escalating COVID-19 cases, potential threats to communities, fire-prone conditions, cancellation of other like events.
