Between 1841 and 1869 over 250,000 people sold their belongings, packed up wagons and set out over-land for California. CANCELLED The National Elko Basque festival began with a celebration that brought sheepherders and cattle ranchers into town for a day of celebration. The Silver State Stampede is the oldest rodeo in Nevada.
