Interstate 15 is the main route of travel between Los Angeles and Las Vegas, crossing the California line at Primm. In Las Vegas it parallels the Strip for about 3 miles and then swings northeast around the center of the city past North Las Vegas and Nellis Air Force Base. There are turnoffs for Highway 93 north to Caliente and Pioche and east for Lake Mead and the Valley of Fire. At Mesquite it crosses into Utah after traversing 125 miles in Nevada.
